Rabbi Moshe Smolkin
Rabbi Smolkin received his ordination from the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies in May. While he will be a newly ordained Rabbi, the Search Committee and the Board believe that he brings exceptional skills and promise to our pulpit. The response of the congregation to his visit was overwhelmingly positive. His abilities, vision, and interests align very closely to those of our congregation as indicated in the Search Committee survey data and in other soundings of the membership that were taken over the course of the past year. His interactions with our children, teens, and adults during his visit revealed a highly engaging teacher. We believe that Rabbi Smolkin will be an excellent resource to our educational programs for both children and adults. He is a seeker and will provide inspired spiritual leadership for congregants whatever their background in, or knowledge of our religious tradition. He is deeply interested in the pastoral aspects of a congregational pulpit. Our interviews of his references were uniformly of the highest positive regard; Rabbi Smolkin is felt to be one of the outstanding members of this year’s seminary class.
