Celebrating Shabbat at OZS
The congregation celebrates Shabbat with spirited and participatory services filled with song and learning
Friday Night Service:
We welcome in Shabbat together as a congregation on the first and third Friday evenings of the month at 5:45 p.m., with special services and dinners added throughout the year.
Friday night service begins at 5:45 P.M.
Saturday Morning Service:
The observance of Shabbat continues on Saturday morning with a Traditional - Egalitarian service (women and men
participate equally) which includes congregant participation on all levels, including children. Kiddush Luncheon
follows the service.
The Shabbat morning service begins each Saturday morning at 9:45 A.M.
Weekday Minyan
Minyan meets Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:45 P.M.
Holidays And Festivals
All holidays and festivals are celebrated with concern for family participation.
Emphasis on children is especially evident at Purim and Simhat Torah.
Special attention is paid to celebrating life cycle moments (weddings, bar/bat
mitzvas, birthdays, anniversaries, etc.) during the Saturday morning service.
